Molli-Q is a mysterious shape-shifting robot created from a magnetic polymer (quadropolymyte) that can change into any shape desired. She is not talkative and mostly “speaks” with her shapeshifting ability. Being newly-born and experiencing the universe for the first time, she is naive and playful. She often acts as Dr. Shikajima’s weapon, whether he is using her as a literal weapon to shape-shift into, acts as a bodysuit, or hides in his shadow. She is very close with Finn, and she considered Finn her best friend.
Molli wants to find out what her purpose is, and is relying on Sam to uncover the mystery behind her creation. Her ambiguous origins are what drives the plot forward in SOLARPUNX.
appearance
As a robot, she is functionally sexless and genderless, but takes the appearance of a feminine humanoid creature and sometimes a young girl. She is able to take any shape and color, but usually defaults to her iconic black-and-magenta color pallet. It's unclear what animal she is meant to resemble, but this could be due to errors since she is not a completed product. She is made out of liquid slime, but deep inside the slime is a small brain-like device that is her true form, and she only uses the slime as a vessel.
