Originally born to be an übermensch, a race of cyborg supersoldiers, he is considered an undesirable and has been delegated to a marine biologist and sometimes covers shifts in the hospital as a nurse.

As a natural-born scientist with an eye for skepticism, he embarks a journey to discover the secrets of Atlantis.

Molli is a mysterious shape-shifting robot created from a magnetic polymer (quadropolymyte) that can change into any shape desired. Molli wants to find out what her purpose is, and is relying on Sam to uncover the mystery behind her creation. Her ambiguous origins are what drives the plot forward in SOLARPUNX. Being newly-born and experiencing the universe for the first time, she is naive and playful. She often acts as Dr. Shikajima’s weapon, whether he is using her as a literal weapon to shape-shift into, acts as a bodysuit, or hides in his shadow. She is very close with Finn, and she considered Finn her best friend.

Finn is a teen boy who lives on the “surface”. He has a hobby of surfing, and is known for exploring and entering forbidden areas. Like most people who live on the surface, he is poor and survives by constantly moving places and stealing food. He is one of the last remaining members of his kind, and does not know of his own whereabouts.

Dr. Fan is a conniving, twisted engineer who allegedly created Molli-Q, who he feels rightfully belongs to him. Alongside his sidekicks, they play a game of cat-and-mouse with Dr. Shikajima and the gang, attempting and failing to retrieve the object of his desire. Having been exiled from the city-dome, he has a bit of history with the Satori’s robotics department which led to his current situation and mental state.

C0D0, his beloved assistant, serves as his sidekick on his villainous adventures, whatever they may be (besides trying to find Molli). This robot is based on the ant-bots that occasionally patrol and complete jobs around the main city, but he has a noticeably more humanlike personality— one of Dr. Fan’s apparent talents.
